How to help
- Encourage the participant to speak to a GP for a mental health care plan.
- Ensure the participant is engaging in all aspects of their mental health care plan.
- Suggest therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
- Let them know of local support groups.
- Teach coping skills and relaxation techniques.
- Help identify triggers and develop strategies to manage anxiety.
- Offer support and encouragement to build confidence.
- If medications are part of their mental health care plan, such as antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications, make sure the participant is taking medications as prescribed.
