About

A stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is blocked or reduced, leading to brain damage. Recovery can vary depending on the severity of the stroke.

Post-stroke refers to the period following a stroke where an individual experiences physical, emotional, or cognitive challenges.

This condition is often invisible.

Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.

Common Challenges

  • Physical limitations: Weakness or paralysis on one side of the body.
  • Speech or communication issues: Difficulty speaking or understanding language.
  • Cognitive difficulties: Problems with memory, attention, or decision-making.
  • Fatigue: Feeling tired easily, which may affect productivity.
  • Emotional changes: Mood swings, depression, or anxiety.
  • Transportation challenges: Difficulty with driving or using public transportation.
  • Workplace environment: Adjustments may be needed for accessibility and comfort.
