About

A spinal cord injury (SCI) occurs when there is damage to the spinal cord, often due to trauma or accidents. This injury can result in partial or complete loss of movement and sensation below the site of injury. The severity depends on the location and extent of the damage.

This condition is often invisible.

Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.

  • Limited ability to perform physical tasks or lifting.
  • Fatigue or pain from long periods of sitting or standing.
  • Inaccessibility in the workplace (e.g., lack of ramps or elevators).
  • Need for frequent medical appointments or rehabilitation.
