About
POTS is a condition that affects circulation (blood flow). It causes an abnormal increase in heart rate when a person stands up, which can lead to symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, brain fog, nausea, and sometimes fainting. It is a type of dysautonomia, meaning the automatic functions of the body (like blood pressure and heart rate regulation) are not working properly.
This condition is often invisible.
Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.

Notes
POTS can vary from mild to disabling, and the impact on work can depend on how well symptoms are managed. With adjustments and support, many people with POTS can remain in or return to work successfully.
