About
Polio is a viral infection that can affect the nervous system and lead to muscle weakness or paralysis. While polio is now rare due to vaccination, some survivors experience new or worsening symptoms decades later, known as Post-Polio Syndrome (PPS). Symptoms may include fatigue, muscle and joint pain, and reduced mobility.
This condition is often invisible.
Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.

Notes
People living with Post-Polio Syndrome may not show visible signs of disability. Symptoms can vary in severity and impact, so ongoing support and workplace flexibility are important.
