About

Narcolepsy is a chronic neurological condition that affects the brain's ability to regulate sleep-wake cycles. People with narcolepsy may experience excessive daytime sleepiness, sudden sleep attacks, and disrupted nighttime sleep. Some individuals may also have cataplexy (sudden muscle weakness triggered by emotions), hallucinations, or sleep paralysis.

This condition is often invisible.

Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.
