About
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), is a chronic pain condition typically affecting a limb after injury or surgery. It is characterized by severe, persistent pain, swelling, changes in skin colour or temperature, and sensitivity in the affected area. CRPS can lead to complications such as depression, anxiety, and muscle atrophy.
This condition is often invisible.
Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.

Notes
CRPS symptoms and severity vary greatly between individuals. Some people recover well, while others experience long-term disability. Early diagnosis and consistent treatment can improve outcomes and support better workplace participation.
