About

Bulimia Nervosa is an eating disorder where a person goes through cycles of binge eating followed by behaviours to avoid weight gain, such as vomiting, over-exercising, or using laxatives. It is often linked to low self-esteem, body image concerns, and emotional distress.

This condition is often invisible.

Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.

Notes

Recovery from bulimia is possible with the right support. Employment can play a positive role in recovery by providing routine and purpose, especially when the work environment is understanding and supportive.
