About

Dysautonomia is a group of conditions where the autonomic nervous system doesn’t work properly. One common form is Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), which causes a rapid heartbeat, dizziness, and fatigue when standing up. These conditions can affect heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and temperature control.

This condition is often invisible.

Many disabilities, including this one, may not have outward signs—people can be significantly impacted even if they appear “fine” on the outside.

Notes

Dysautonomia and POTS can vary widely in symptoms and severity. Some people may appear well while experiencing significant internal symptoms. Consistency, flexibility, and support are key to maintaining employment.
